Advertising and In-App Purchases

Free Version with Ads

The free version displays banner advertisements to support development costs while keeping the app accessible to all students.

Google AdMob Integration

We use Google AdMob to display ads in the free version:

• Ad Types: Banner ads, rewarded ads (opt-in video ads that grant in-app rewards), and rewarded interstitial ads
• Ad Placement: Banners at bottom of screens; rewarded ads shown when user chooses to watch for rewards
• Data Collected by AdMob:
  • Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
  • Device information (model, OS version)
  • IP address (for general location)
  • Ad interaction data (views, clicks)
  • App usage data (time spent, features used)

Children's Privacy

Age-Based Experience

During first launch, users select their age band. This selection is stored locally on the device only and is never transmitted to our servers. The app adjusts its advertising experience accordingly:

• Under 9: No advertisements are shown
• Ages 9–12: Banner ads only; COPPA child-directed treatment applied; ad content limited to G-rated
• Ages 13–17: All ad types available; under-age-of-consent treatment applied in EEA/UK regions
• Ages 18+: Standard ad experience with region-appropriate consent

For users under 13 in the United States:

• Child-directed treatment is automatically applied based on age band selection
• No persistent identifiers that track students across apps
• No features that enable children to publicly disclose personal information
• No behavioral advertising or tracking for children
• Ad content restricted to G-rated for ages 9–12; no ads for under 9

GDPR Compliance (European Union)

For students under 16 in the EU:

• We do not process personal data of children without appropriate safeguards
• Local-only processing means no personal data leaves the device (except to AI service via user's own API key)
• No profiling or automated decision-making about students
